Tour Description
London’s East End is one of Europe’s most vibrant inner city areas. And the perfect place to enjoy a food tour.
Made infamous by Jack the Ripper in the late 19th century, the historic East End is full of fascinating stories at every turn.
The East End has been the arrival point for communites from around the world coming to Britain to make their lives better for centuries. As a result the streets are like an open kitchen for Bengali, Eastern European, Asian and other culinary talents.
The East End was the birthplace of Britain’s national dish, fish and chips. And also the home of more divisive English dishes, such as jellied eels.
It is, though, the area’s international nature that makes the food culture so exciting. The East End is home to some of England’s best South Asian restaurants and delis, and a vibrant Jewish community provides us with the world famous Beigel stop.
Nowhere is the melting pot of London better represented than on these streets.
Our 3-hour London East End food tour is a great way not only to learn about our history but to taste some of our favourite dishes as we go. We’ll explore the streets stopping in at 6 of our favourite locally run businesses to try their dishes and hear their stories.
From traditional English fare to European delis and Asian pop ups, we’ll explore the story of London’s East End and the communities that live here.
This historic setting provides the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of delicious food and memorable stories.
We’ll visit one of the city’s best food markets, pop in to family run businesses and enjoy dishes from London’s diverse ethnic communities.
Our tours support local businesses, guaranteeing the most authentic experience.
