Way more than just a historical pub tour.

Looking for something a little different to do one afternoon in London? If you want more than the usual sightseeing trail, we’re thrilled to present our brand-new experience: News Booze & Bad Behaviour.

We wanted to showcase some of London and our own favourite pubs in London so it made sense to research into doing a historical pub tour. After a few trial runs and tweaks however, we learned that this was way more than what we originally went out to create.

Our News, Booze and Bad Behaviour tour not only visits 5 atmoshpheric drinking dens, it also shares the storyof London’s hidden side. Out of the ashes of the Great Fire of London these streets became the epi-centre of London’s legal and journalistic worlds. Around every corner scandal is uncovered. Spies, espionage, gossip and debate. If the walls of these pubs could talk…….

Why this tour is for you

  • You’ll walk the very same streets of Fleet Street where newspapers once ruled the world, spies met in shadowy corners, scandals broke, and secrets were whispered over pints.
  • You’ll visit hidden alleys and tucked-away pubs — places you wouldn’t find on your own. Expect narrow corridors, secret exits, and stories of crime, intrigue and espionage.
  • You’ll do it all in good company: our small group tours have a maximum of 6 guests, mixing the comfort of a well-guided outing with the excitement of uncovering London’s mischievous past.
  • It’s perfect for couples who want to sip something stronger than your standard sightseeing tour — but still stay classy.

What to expect

From 3pm, you’ll begin with a warm welcome and your guide will lead you into the heart of Fleet Street’s pub culture. Over approximately 3 hours, you’ll:

  • Step into five historic pubs selected for their character, not just their taps. The ones that have seen journalists, spies, poets and scandal-makers walk through the door.
  • Enjoy a half-pint or small glass of something at each stop (you’ll know your way around by the end). No pressure, just good sipping.
  • Listen to stories of secret societies meeting in cellars, covert escapes through hidden exits, scandals uncovered by Fleet Street’s own reporters, and maybe even a duel or two in a smoky corner.
  • Tuck into some tasty small bites – classic pub snacks, the kind of food you didn’t know you were craving until you’re halfway through the tour.

The vibe

Think: a refined afternoon out with an edge. You’re not on a wild pub-crawl chasing shots. You’re on a curated journey through place, story, history and character. Comfortable shoes (there will be walking), your curiosity, and perhaps a camera for the atmospheric corners you’ll stumble upon.

Why Fleet Street?

Fleet Street is legendary. Once the home of the UK’s newspaper industry, it has long held a mixture of grandeur, secrecy and murky back-alleys. Pubs here have witnessed centuries of drama: journalists breaking the next big story, spies slipping messages under pint-glasses, and ordinary Londoners making history one glass at a time.

Ideal for you

  • You’re visiting London, and you want something different.
  • You appreciate good storytelling, great pubs and the kind of atmosphere where each corner might whisper a secret.
  • You want a memorable afternoon that mixes history, mystery and enjoyment — not just another “tourist attraction”.
  • You are ready to sample a few drinks, and open to stepping off the beaten track..
